oh, Icarus, how did it feel?
when you soared through the sky,
did it almost feel real?
I cling to those almosts,
though I know it seems childish,
but it's what gives me hope,
in a world where I can only wish.
did the sun spark your flame?
did the ocean fill your heart again?
I know I must not follow your haste,
but you left prints in the and I long to chase.
brittle bones under paper skin,
what are we if not dust and wind?
you were my compass in a labyrinth of thoughts,
I had no idea that you too, were lost.
oh, Icarus, will you ever forgive me?
for chasing what I want and who I can be.
I know, I must not plea,
but, Icarus,
you looked so free.
